Cultures in Resistance
(CIR)
Manifesto Press presents Cultures in Resistance: a day of workshops, creativity and political education at Franz-Mehring-Platz 1, Berlin.
Bringing together artists, cultural activists and social justice organisers, the event explored the role of the arts in social and political movements, examining culture in movements for change. Turning lessons from the past into action for now.
Workshops
Supported by the Zetkin Forum, Franz Mehring Platz 1 (FMP1), Münzenberg Forum and the Hans Hess Foundation, the programme featured workshops led by Orah Johnson (Manifesto Press), Florentine Sandoval (Zetkin Forum) and Gordon Main, director of Comrade Tambo's London Recruits.
Screening | Q&A
The day was structured with a blend of focused workshops from poster-making, to filmmaking and the language of class struggle, with snacks and refreshments provided throughout.
The workshops were later followed by a screening of Comrade Tambo's London Recruits at 9:30pm, with a Q&A discussion afterwards.
